On 17 July, HCL Technologies announced that its founder and chairman Shiv Nadar stepped down from the role and the company’s Board of Directors has appointed his daughter, Roshni, as the new chairperson with immediate effect.
India’s wealthiest woman, Roshni Nadar Malhotra becomes the new chairman of Noida-based IT company, HCL Technologies. The appointment of non-executive director Roshni Nadar Malhotra to the new role takes effect immediately. She will replace her father, Shiv Nadar.
Roshni, also a trained classical musician, came on the board of HCL Technologies in 2013 and was Vice Chairperson. She will continue as CEO of HCL Corporation, the holding company for all the group entities.

According to the latest Hurun Rich List, Roshni is India’s richest woman with a net worth of Rs 36,800 crore.

She featured in ‘The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women’ list compiled and released by Forbes in 2017, 2018, and 2019, consecutively.
